Manly...Spam...Shrines...huh?

So although spring break was almost a month ago now, I am just getting around to blogging about it. Life goes way too fast. But here goes...

Friday- Got home later in the night and got kinda sick.

Saturday- Was kinda sick all day so I mostly stayed in bed and did some random events. :)

Sunday- Sick in the morning but then got up and hung out with the family the rest of the night.

Monday- Painted most of the upstairs of our house and made some HUGE progress. (check out "SUCCESS!!!" blog post)

Tuesday- Left late morning with four other girls (Bekah and Abbey Hanish, Bailey Soderstrum, and Laura McCasland) and drove up to Wisconsin Dells. We had some sweet stops along the way just to make the drive more entertaining!
Stop #1
: Manly, Iowa (we had to stop just because of the name)

Me attempting to hold up the Manly Water tower!

An attempt at being "Manly"

Stop #2: Spam Museum (what vacation is complete without a stop at the Spam Museum?!?)

Future Employees???

We learned all about the fascinating history of SPAM

Stop #3: Lady Guadalupe Shrine (we had no idea what this was but it sounded fun so we went)

We drove over half an hour to get to this place and got there at 4:05. It closed at 4:00. BUMMER!!! (but we still went in) :)

Just a fun sister picture...inspired by my sweet cousin, Terilee.

Lady Guadalupe

We stayed at one of my parent's timeshares and once we got there we went grocery shopping, got what we thought would be a chick-flick (instead it was so depressing), and ate ice cream and cookie dough. SIDE NOTE: Right as we pulled in my contact ripped so I had to go the rest of the trip without contacts but with glasses that are not even close to the right prescription! :)

Wednesday- We stayed home in the morning and had some great God time and then met up at lunch for pancakes and bacon! Then we decided to go to Broadway which looked like it would be a sweet place but ended up being quite grungy and kinda gross. :) It was still fun though.

The "German" section of Broadway.

There were lots of candy shops on Broadway and in one of them they had some sweet hats so instead of eating candy, we just wore the hats!

Then that night we decided to make up for our day and go to a really cool looking pub on the river. We got there and it was basically empty and then as we walked up to the doors we looked inside and it was a bunch of older men playing pool. Not quite the place we wanted to eat. :) So instead we went to a Japanese Steakhouse which made the entire day!!! It was so cool!

An Angel

That night we had smoothies and attempted our luck at another chick-flick but with NO SUCCESS YET AGAIN! We also looked at bridal magazines and did our nails! Quite the fun girls night!

Thursday- We packed up and left. I ended up getting sick again on the way home so we didn't really make any stops during this leg of the trip. Then once we got home we all went our separate ways and I slept some more and spent a bit of time with the family.

Friday- We did some more work on the house and Papa and I put polyurethane on all of the boards for the porch ceiling. Then we had a fun movie night and watched "A Time to Kill" which is a FABULOUS movie!

Saturday- Just hung out and did some last minute homework. Then I hung out some more with Mom, Dad, and Papa and then headed back to UNI.

A very successful Spring Break if I may say so! It was SO great to be home with my family and enjoy the peacefulness of my house!
