The Marchetta Proposal

Once upon a time there was a young lady who had traveled far, far from her home to explore new lands. 5371 miles from her family and birth city she settled for a few years to explore a continent called Europe. Having grown up in the high deserts of a city called Carson, the greenery and vast gardens of the city of London completely captivated her, and so she made her base there. She was enjoying her time exploring other European cities when one day, while studying in Barcelona, Spain, she met a young man. They were quite different, but something strongly attracted her to this particular young man.

It turned out that the young man wasn’t even from Spain, but Italy. Despite her hesitation to spend time with an Italian (due to many stories she had heard regarding Italian guys slightly shady behaviors), natures forces seamed to just push them together.

After a few years of friendship, courting and experiences, the young lady and young man realized they were deeply in love. They were somewhat surprised by their situation, in that they came from distant lands and very different cultures, but they could not deny their feelings...

They longed to live the rest of their lives together...and then on 5 December 2009, the young man organized a special trip way up to Edinburgh, Scotland. A big black car met them when they arrived to Edinburgh’s airport and drove them 30 minutes out into the countryside. They arrived at Dalhousie Castle (photo above) and the young lady was completely in a cloud of excitement to be staying in such a lovely place. They spent time wandering in the many acres of gardens, exploring the streams and admiring the ‘falconry.’ While staying in the Castle, after an amazing three course meal which was more delectable than words can describe, the young man pulled out a brilliantly beautiful ring and asked the young lady to marry him. She said YES! They embraced with tears and stronger emotions than either of them had ever felt....and then....They lived happily ever after.
