Kim & Joe's Wedding

Kim and Joe's wedding has to be one of my most favorite wedding memories. Kim and Joe are such an amazing couple. They compliment each other so nicely, in so many ways. They are both intelligent, kind and fun as well. I truly enjoyed assisting them throughout the year as they made their wedding plans.

Joe's backyard could not have looked any more beautiful! The pond was filled with water, the waterfall flowing, and the new bridge (handmade by Joe's father) spanned across the pond, and what would become the wedding aisle, was completed and decorated with hanging flowers. Everyone worked so many hours, especially Joe's parents to make sure this day would be perfect. Perfect it was, with just a little twist.

As hundreds of guests began to arrive, clouds darkened and formed overhead. We talked about a Plan B, but it just would not be the same for Kim and Joe, being married inside the tent. The hand-crafted bridge was an important element of the ceremony, and anything else, just would not be the same. With a slight break in the weather, we quickly gathered guests onto towel-dried chairs, and began the procession. Just when it was time for Kim, on the arm of her father, to take her walk down the aisle, the clouds broke loose, and it began to rain....hard! She continued on, making her walk across the bridge, under the protection of an umbrella and with a smile that could not be dimmed. "Here Comes The Sun" played as she made her way towards Joe, also wearing a smile that was hard to miss!

Yes, the day was perfect, and beneath a parasol, Kim and Joe became husband and wife. The gold-medal-winning bridal party, family, guests and vendors made sure that Kim and Joe had their perfect wedding day, and that it was a day for all to remember for a very, very long time to come. The rain eventually subsided, and gave way to a beautiful fall evening under the stars. And then the party started! What an ending to such a wonderful day, and what a wonderful beginning for this great couple as they begin their lives together.

Kim and Joe, it was such a pleasure getting to know you and your families, while you were planning your wedding. I also want to thank you for the opportunity to assist you on your wedding day. It was such a wonderful day, rain and all. I admire you both, and wish you love and happiness as you go throughout your lives, making your own special memories. xoxo Liane
