Life 4 Liam

Cheer Command is more than an allstar cheerleading facility located in Mokena, Illinois.  On Friday, July 22nd from 4pm - 7pm they are coming together to raise money for the Quirk Family. Kevin Quirk is a tumbling coach at UGA whose son Liam was diagnosed with an Auto Immune Disease called Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD). You can find more out about Liam’s journey on http://www.life4liam.com/.

Many athletes know Kevin from over the years and the folks at Cheer Command feel they have the capability of making a financial impact for his family. Kevin has to travel several times a week to visit his son as he recovers from a stem cell transplant. This and the doctor fees have put an understandable financial strain on their family.

Please join Cheer Command in their Tie Dye and Tumbling event for Friday July 22nd from 4pm-7pm. The fee is $20 for a tshirt that you can come Tie Dye and then hours of open gym.  The goal is to get instructors from other programs to come help support this cause. We are reaching out to other Cheer and Gymnastic facilities as well as schools and park districts.

If you can't tumble but would like to donate; contact them at cheercommand@yahoo.com.  Together we can achieve so much more...

Blissful Wishes

Often times event planners are seen as people that are always on the taking end of the give/take scenerio.  I wont get on my soap box about how hard we work on making what we do look easy BUT please "respect what we do".  On Monday, November 1, 2010 about 250 industry professionals came together at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel to celebrate an organization that allows us to pay it forward!
Wish Upon A Wedding , the world's first nonprofit wish granting organization provides wedding's and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances.   Through this organization industry professionals and able to take their gifts and talents and grant wedding wishes to couples without them having any thoughts of existing health or other serious issues, while surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Good food, yummy cake, ROCKING music and amazing people celebrating a great cause = Fun, fun fun as you can see by some of the photo's taken by Gerber + Scarpelli Photography

Want to help or get involved?  Visit WUW website and register as a Wish Granter or Volunteer.

Brides Against Breast Cancer

Brides Against Breast Cancer is a charity wedding gown tour that goes “on the road” to approximately 40 cities per year with truckloads of discounted wedding gowns for sale.  BABC events give local brides-to-be the opportunity to find their dream gowns while making wishes come true for stage IV breast cancer patients.

Headquartered in Portland, OR, Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation™ is a non-profit organization dedicated to granting wishes, including memory-making events, for stage IV breast cancer patients, while continuing to support, educate and increase awareness of breast cancer.

Since its founding in 1998, Making Memories has developed various fundraising divisions including Brides Against Breast Cancer™, Pink Envelope Project, Quilters Against Breast Cancer and Diamonds for Dreams.  These divisions support wish fulfillment and various educational programs of the foundation.

Each year, Making Memories receives thousands of wedding gowns from various manufacturers, designers, retailers and individuals for the Brides Against Breast Cancer™ Nationwide Tour of Gowns, making it the organization’s primary fundraising activity.  Gown prices range from $99 and up, including hundreds of brand name and designer gowns, some valued up to $8,000.  Tiaras, veils, crinolines and other accessories will also be offered. Bridal gown donations will also be accepted for gowns 2006 and newer.
