at home: sweet like chocolate!
Two of our friends - Erin and Ryan - were over on Sunday to meet our new puppy Bear. It just so happened that it was also Ryan's birthday so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to make him a cake! I must admit, it was quite ambitious considering I'm certainly not the domestic goddess that some people might think I am. I do not cook, in fact, I hate cooking... but there's something about baking a cake that's just so much more fun!
It was a little daunting at first but as I got the hang of it, it started to turn out pretty well. I was so proud of the finished product that I just had to take some pics to show off my first baked treat =) And, for the record, it was delicious!!
(Poor little Bear, I could see him eyeing off the cake all morning but he didn't get a piece... he did get a bone though which he seemed pretty pleased with...)
shop update: purple and teal pretties
Stay tuned... I'm slowly photographing the pieces but I plan to add them all to my store shortly.

Mr Bear: Rubenstein bear
He arrived about 2 weeks ago at the age of 9 weeks via plane from a Labrador breeder in Melbourne. It was a one hour flight but it must have felt like an eternity for our poor little puppy. While we would have preferred to have driven from Canberra to collect him, we thought that a one hour flight would be less traumatic for a little puppy compared to an 8 hour drive. He arrived safely, a little anxious, but overall happy-go-lucky and keen to meet his new family.
I have taken about a million photos of our new puppy dog... ahh, what can I say, I'm a proud new parent! We have even arranged a professional photo session of Bear this coming Sunday so that's very exciting. A little like a family portrait with Steve and myself. Oh I can't wait to show you all how the photos turn out!
wish list: gorgeous garlands
Ahh what the heck... I might get all of them!

Allow me to introduce myself....
- I've been asked on more than one occasion "what is your perfect bride". My bride is BUSY living life! She knows what she wants but not quite sure how to pull it all together. She is modern, upbeat and fun, loves her family and looks forward to sharing her most personal and memorable moments with those that celebrate her. Not to be confused with a bridezilla, she values time and welcomes PEACE with open arms. Dont be alarmed if you dont fit that description because SPPE works with and knows some great planners that may be able to help you as well and we'd love to recommend them to you :)

New Black Eyed Peas song samples Dirty Dancing Track
The Peas have just given their fans a taste the album's first single dance track "The Time (Dirty Bit)." This track samples the iconic theme from "Dirty Dancing," "(I've Had) The Time of My Life."
"You should expect deeper, a little bit darker electro beats and a little bit more of relationship issues on this one, a little bit more touching on that." Fergie told MTV News. "But darker beats and a lot of funny stuff, as well, a lot of funny stuff." Fergie said the song, “sort of sums up the current vibe of our group.”
The new album will be released on November 30th.

Warm Winter Wedding Ideas
Citrus fruits are so perfect in winter – they’re such a bright and refreshing note on otherwise cold and dreary days. And though I would never limit citrus to one season, I do think it’s perfect for a winter brunch wedding. At least, that’s what I had in mind when making today’s inspiration board. Buttery yellow and warm white act as a clean backdrop for bright pops of various citrus colors, from grapefruit pink to tangerine. Instead of a full bar, how about a few citrus cocktails and variations on the classic mimosa? Let vintage botanical prints inspire your stationery, or perhaps act as table numbers (I love them in the white frames on the wall in the top left corner). Ribbon wands are a sweet alternative for flower girls, instead of confetti or rice, or even for lining the aisle in an outdoor ceremony.
Mood: cheerful and sweetly sophisticated
Palette: grapefruit, lemonade, blood orange, tangerine, lime

Row 2: vintage citrus botanical print from Vintage Printables, dress from Charleston Weddings
Row 3: calligraphy by Tara Jones, velvet ring boxes from Martha Stewart Weddings, kumquat place setting from Fiore Designs
Row 4: suit with orange necktie from Martha Stewart Weddings, ribbon wands by Chelsea Fuss, orange bouquet with small cup daffodils by Ariella Chezar for Brides
