Special Sparkles by Tiny Gems

As a bride you want to make sure that your look is perfect and complete. Choosing the right accessories can be one of the biggest headaches a bride can have and as its completely personal no one can really know what it is you want...or do they?

Sarah from Tiny Gems can help with just that, she will be able to interpret exactly what you want and how you want it. I asked Sarah to tell me a bit more about her work and what inspires her. Here is what she said:

"I was born in North Wales and we moved to Liverpool when I was 3 years old. Tiny-Gems was created when I was made redundant from the bank I had worked in for many years. I am based in Wirral/Cheshire however as I am internet based my jewellery travels far and wide even to Singapore and Australia, distance really is no object.

My main aim is to create something to make your wedding day stand out from the crowd. The website only gives examples of my work and I love nothing more than a bride to be getting in touch and sending me images of their dress and explaining the themes and ideas for their big day so that I can then create something especially for them whether it be jewellery, tiara or heirloom bouquet.

I officially have the best job in the whole world, I love all things wedding and get so over excited discussing plans with people and sharing their thoughts and ideas. Everyone wants everything about their wedding to be special and my main aim is to ensure that happens, even if that includes helping out a bride sourcing items for their wedding that they are struggling with.

I love developing relationships with my customers and I consider them all to have become good friends. The personal touch is something I am very proud to offer to all of my customers.

"I am inspired by all kinds of things the list is endless, I love old Hollywood Glamour it so timeless and elegant and can be worked into either modern or vintage styling effortlessly. I especially look up to the one and only Audrey Hepburn a real style icon, whose images are as up to date now as they were when they were taken a true celebrity.

When I start designing a new heirloom bouquet I will select one brooch that I want to be the centre focal piece and will work all the rest of the pieces around it. Although it has been known for me to take apart and re-work a bouquet 10 times plus until I am happy with the look of it. I am a very hands on person so once I have made the main part of the bouquet I will then play around with ribbons and materials to make the collar and handle to the brides colour requirements and send lots of pictures throughout the process to ensure we are both working towards our vision for her finished heirloom bouquet."
When I saw the beautiful pieces that Sarah has created, I knew I had to share them with you. I hope you will be as inspired as I was and I will be recommending these to my brides in the future.

Prom Princess

Now for something a little different this week!   I have been speaking with Claire Ogden from Claire Ogden Designs and she has shown me some spectacular work this week that I am so excited to share with you.

This is what Claire had to say:

I am Claire Ogden, a Jewellery Designer based in the quaint hills of Saddleworth, in the UK, I create exquisite pieces that are individual and unique in their own right! My work stands out from the rest.

Wedding Jewellery and bespoke design are the aspects I really LOVE! I relish in the fact that my bridal jewellery is so very unique and the finishing touch to the very perfect day! I enjoy working together with my clients and giving them what they are expecting and much more.

All of my products have been created to infuse each piece with a sense of individuality, boldness and an impression made to last. ‘Once seen never forgotten’ philosophy!

I love to make a difference and create jewellery that shines through and gets noticed but designing each piece to last the decades and be wearable for a lifetime. All of my jewellery, wedding jewellery and hair accessories are made using the highest quality materials, I carefully handpick very small quantities to ensure you an exclusive design with limited materials made individually just for you.

Every girls dream is to be the Belle of the ball and be swept of her feet by prince charming right? Well Bethany Siddall had her dream come true when I made her a special unique prom headband to complete her new found look….
Capturing all aspects of the outfit in my piece was quite a complex thing to do and ensuring it all worked together was quite a challenge, have no fear ladies I met my challenge and made a truly terrific piece!

This little show stopping piece was designed to catch the admiring glances of passers buy and cause a bit of a stir, leaving the wearer beaming with confidence, shining like a star and heart beating all of a flutter, I wanted dramatic meets elegant flair with an original
funky’ look…..did I succeed? Your comments please…..

You see when I hatch a plan I make sure everything is covered, this piece had to be fabulous, there was no if’s and buts it just HAD to be divine. The prom dress itself was a gorgeous little number from Monsoon sporting bright colours and a powerful floral theme, I planned to enhance the best features of the frock and match the headband not only with a colour of the dress but tie in the gorgeous colours within the makeup palette, jewellery and shoes.

The best bit was still to come, we had such an amazing time creating the desired look, we made a complete afternoon of it, now ladies don’t we love to be made up, the whole process is so relaxing with the finished effect always being fantastic and we often wonder why we can’t create that look ourselves? I had a really good time creating a gorgeous face and twisting those luscious locks into spirals for a dramatic sexy soft curl up do!! Oooh all those pins....

So the next time you fancy something that little bit special ladies, why not divulged yourself in a personnel bespoke service, (I offer an amazing one), created all around you and make yourselves feel as extra special as Bethany did on the way to her prom, looking like that I am sure Prince Charming will be first in line to sweep her high off her feet, do you?

I think you will agree that these pieces are outstanding, you can visit Claire at her website and via her online shop

Capturing the Day!

One thing I find astonishing is that booking a photographer for many couples is way down the priority list and is often one of the last things that they organise.  This is such a vital part of your wedding day and the one thing that will capture the essence of your special day, and for you to look back on in years to come.

I have been speaking to Alan Watson from Alan Watson Photography and have the priviledge of showcasing some of his work.
Alan is originally from Ayrshire and is now based just outside Edinburgh but he covers the whole of Scotland and Northern England. He has been commissioned to attend many weddings including that of a member of the Scottish Parliament and a Player from the Scottish Rugby Team.

At Alan Watson Photography, their sole intention is one of capturing your special day in a style and manner that will provide a lasting memory. Your wedding is unique and so are you. Alan will provide you with a totally bespoke record of your special day; it should be fun, natural and glamorous. You will have chosen the best location and you want to remember it the way it was! That’s his job to do that for you.

Alan said I love my job and love dealing with people. My style is relaxed and informal, I have attended many weddings and I know how stressful they can be. Do you want your photographer shouting orders at you and your guests? I’m guessing not, you want to enjoy your day, with your family and friends around you, you’ve worked hard enough for it!

I consider my job, as well as taking excellent photographs is to be of assistance to you throughout my time with you. I will be there to work with you and take the photographs you want. You want a record of the day and before I leave you, I will hand you three copies of all the full sized files on DVD. Also, the “copyright” © of these photographs will then pass to you both, no need to contact me to ask permission (or pay extra) to use these images, unlike some other photographers. All I ask is that you allow me to use three or four of your images for my own marketing purposes.

If it sounds easy – well it is, I know the stress that Brides go through and I have deliberately made it as easy as possible, so you can just tick off another little box and not have to worry about it – you will be in very safe hands, remember Alan Watson Photography for all your photographic needs.

So remember don't leave it too late to book your photographer, it's such an important part of your day and make sure give yourself enough time to book the right professional for the job.

Stunning Stationery

Today I am delighted to be showcasing the fantastic work of Ruby at Paper Whispers.   The beautiful work that she creates is as individual as the clients she creates it for.

I asked Ruby what inspired her to start her business and she said   "I love creating beautiful wedding stationery that is truly unique. I was bitten by the design bug when planning my own wedding in 2008. I searched high and low for stylish modern stationery but I could not find any and ended up designing my own."

The first of our signature lines is actually based on my own wedding invitation. It is in a pocketfold style with a thoroughly modern twist. We incorporate photographs ranging from subtle engagement pictures to landscapes from the couple's own collection. We recently completed a beautiful black and white Parisian themed order with the Eiffel tower taking centre stage.

Our second signature invitation line is the vintage inspired collection. I love the vintage crystal beading of the 1920's and 1930's and I was keen to merge it in with stationery. Several of our cards carry delicate crystal beading carefully placed by hand. The amount of beading is easily changed as all our designs are customisable allowing the bride to control how much sparkle she would like

Our brand new line for 2011 is the Alice in Wonderland range. I am very excited about this range as it is full of lovely little miniatures. We have mini place cards (about the size of a 50 coin) and beautiful little tea time tags perfect for vintage tea parties.

We have also introduced the love jar guestbook which is a delicate glass jar that can be filled with handwritten love notes by guests at the wedding.

If you would like to see more of the wonderful designs that Ruby creates visit her website Paper Whispers or email her at customer.services@paperwhispers.com

Utterly Enchanting

The definition of the word Enchanting is : fascinate, attract; captivate, enrapture : Source

This is exactly what the gorgeous Tiaras and Jewellery  Enchanted Touches delivers.  I know I was particularly drawn to some of the stunning pieces that Fiona has created.   Today I delighted to be sharing some of her work so you too can be enchanted by them.

Add some sparkle
Icicle Tiara
Enchanted Touches was created by Fiona Bowles in 2010. After modelling bridalwear for 5 years.   Fiona was inspired to create her own range of tiaras and jewellery.  Having had the opportunity to wear an extensive variety of bridal accessories, it gave her a rare experience in understanding what is comfortable, a background of popular and different designs and most importantly - which styles looks great!

After speaking to many brides-to-be whilst modelling Fiona appreciates that every bride has distinctive and individual tastes and every wedding day is unique and special.

One of my favourite pieces
Satyrium

Stationery collections were added Enchanted Touches, which use top quality materials at highly competitive prices. Up to 3 stationery samples can be sent free of charge and Fiona is more than happy to discuss your colour schemes and wedding themes to incorporate into the designs.

Bird of Paradise

Each piece is Fiona's own design and she would love to hear about your own ideas to make it the perfect piece for your dream wedding day.  You can contact her at fiona@enchantedtouches.co.uk and view her website Enchanted Touches  to see many more of these stunning designs.
