shop update: pretty in pink (champagne)

One thing I have come to realise is that you're either a pink girl... or you're not a pink girl... and I certainly LOVE pink!  To be honest, I'm not really a fan of candy pink or anything lolly like, but I do love soft pinks like blush tones, light pink, even pastel pink... ooh la la!

I recently received a custom order for 3 pink champagne bridesmaids hair flowers - I jumped at the opportunity because I was excited to see what I would come up with. Here are some pics!

It's The Little Things...

It's the little things that make a wedding special, a relationship long lasting and a marriage successful. It's the little things that drive us crazy as well as make us happy. I'm starting to fall in love with tons of little details for our wedding.

The other day on Broke Ass Bride she showcased Bowie Bride's Madlib guestbook idea and it was fun, unique, just awesome...A guestbook where you fill in the blanks based on emotion, adjective, noun, verb, etc just like in a Madlib and then, on the other side, you find out what it says which according to the sample ended up being,

“I am so devastated to be at your garish wedding! It’s the biggest fart since The Spanish/American War.  I think Mike and Britt are one feverish couple. Truth be told, I’m a bit elated that Britt is off the market. I saw us as lovers, but I couldn’t get over her loudmouth.  I’m glad Mike is willing to put up with it. Good luck in all your volleyball endeavors!  In Christ , Bowie Bride.”

I fell in LOVE with this idea! Then, I came across the DIY Pinwheels from Style Me Pretty and thought, what an AWESOME idea for lining my aisle. Just look at these whimsical, fun, wonderful DIY thingermabobs:

Voila! I'll change the colors to match our wedding- turquoise/aqua and black and white polka dots. What a cool treat for the kiddies too!

So, these are a couple of things that I've been looking at and thinking of and semi obsessing over, yes, my friends, it will only get worse as the days wear on....so don't say I didn't warn you!

etsy finds: puppy love

Is it odd that I'm already browsing online for puppy accessories but I don't even have a dog? Is it even more peculiar that I'm really tempted to actually purchase these goodies but I don't even know what my future dog will look like, including size/colour etc?

Although we've just moved into a new abode, I think it will still be about 6 months before we go ahead and find ourselves the perfect buddy. It's so exciting, I can't to have a new dog in the family =)

Actually, in browsing for some pet accessories I came across the most beautiful dog adorned with the most beautiful collar (see above!).  I got in contact with Annie from shopKCQ about her gorgeous dog in the photo above and what her breed was.  It turns out she's a German Shepherd and Golden Retriever mix.... awww... I must have her! Isn't she just to die for?!

I have been eyeing off some great Etsy shops who make and sell these gorgeous gorgeous accessories... check them out!

Themed Alternatives to Wedding Place Cards

You know the little cards that lead you to your table at the wedding reception... Well, they do not need to be cards anymore. As I wrote in a previous blog about a month ago, I recently saw a couple use lit tea candles with their guests names printed on the candle holders. This isn't the only alternative option out there, especially when a them is involved.

At a beach-theme reception, you can really have a blast. Seashells with names printed on them, perhaps from metallic ink pens are a novel idea, as are decorative stones. Other people may choose to actually decorate coconuts with their guests names on them, as well. Other ideas can include mini-ships in a bottle, messages in bottles (open slips of paper read through the glass), or other various sea-related statuettes.

A vegas theme could involve poker chips with names on them, or even large playing cards!

Music-friendly? Another neat idea includes cd's (compact discs) with the couples names printed on them, with music for later listening. How about a 45 record with names on them for the older guests?!

It is really worth stopping by the dollar store and seeing what you can whip together! You will be surprised, and hopefully, so will your guests!

Katie & Jeffrey's Wedding

Saturday's wedding was incredible! Katie looked a beautiful as any movie star ready for the starring role of a lifetime! She had kept the details of her gown a secret from Jeffrey, and the expression on his face as she made her way down the aisle showed his surprise and approval.

Katie was escorted down the aisle towards her handsome Jeffrey, by her beautiful and loving Mother. After all, for all these many years, it had just been the two of them, and it was the perfect touch to a very special wedding. Even the two little flower girls and the bible-bearer accomplished their tasks with precision! Here you can read all about their first meeting one another and their true love story.

Reno-Tahoe's Tannenbaum Lodge, nestled in the Mt. Rose pines, looked radiant under the hundreds of globe lights strung along the wooden, open-beamed ceiling. The plum and ivory linens reflected a royal feeling throughout the room. Katie's bouquet was entirely created from varying tones of pink Peonies flown in from Alaska. It was truly exquisite!

The highlight of the night came after Katie and Jeffrey had their first dance. It was then Katie's time to dance with her Mother. There was not a dry eye anywhere in the house! Even the vendors were crying! It was a special memory for Katie and her Mom, for sure, as well as a moment the rest of us will also remember forever.

Thank you Katie and Jeffrey for such a memorable day. You are such nice people, having such a wonderful support group from your family and church friends. You are so blessed to have eachother. It was such a honor to assist you these past many months with the planning and implementation of your wedding day dreams. My love and best wishes to you always...
xoxo Liane
